orman house

Apalachicola, FL 32320

In summer 2025, Allstate Construction brought us onto the Orman House renovation, a project already well underway and needing its landscape brought to a finish. Our initial scope was focused — complete the rock installation, the remaining irrigation, and the sod. With room left in the budget, we saw a chance to do more, developing a simple planting plan that worked with the improvements already in place and the material available at the time, then sourcing and installing it as the final phase. What began as a landscape completion became an opportunity to pull the elements together into a fitting setting for the renovated property.

project goals.

  • Complete the final landscape scope — rock installation, remaining irrigation, and sod.

  • Use the remaining budget to introduce planting for a more finished, intentional feel.

  • Work with the improvements already in place and the plant material available at the time.

  • Bring the elements together into a setting that suits the newly renovated property.

“Planting that softens the edges, grounds the property and makes it whole.”

What you see above ground is only part of the design. Planting, paths, and garden spaces are carefully coordinated with irrigation, utilities, and other systems below the surface. Bringing these layers together is an important part of creating a landscape that works as well as it looks.
